We all need to follow the current government policy at the time of your stay to ensure that everyone onsite can relax and enjoy their time away. Please bring your own PPE with you.
Yes, but as with many rural areas it's best not to use the Postcode! Some Satnav's may take you to the road just above Pockley which has limited opportunities for caravans to turn around on. If you type in Beadlam Rigg, there is only Low, Middle and High Farm on the straight road...we are the last one when you run out of road!
Using our online booking system is the easiest way to make your booking, however if you wish to speak to someone please do feel free to call or email prior to making your booking online.
To request a hardstanding please call or email before making your booking to ensure we have availability.

For the CAMC CL departure is by 12noon and arrival is after 2pm. In the interest of the other guests on site please do not aim to arrive after 8pm.
The Bothy & The Retreat -please check out by 10am. Arrivals are after 4pm, however we would appreciate it if you could advise us of your approximate time of arrival to help us plan our day
All year around however the toilet/shower block will be drained down for winter when the weather gets cooler. In winter CL pitches are restricted to the two hardstanding pitches only.
Please call 07970261503 to let us know your estimated time of arrival and we will make arrangements for you.
Both Helmsley (4.5m) and Kirkbymoorside (7 miles) have a Co-op and Costcutter/Spa and a variety of other great butchers and bakers.

The CAMC CL is an open grass field. There are no steps to access the toilet and shower other than the threshold to the door. There is good lighting, a shower seat and plenty of space inside, however they are not specifically “disabled friendly”.
As with all static caravans there is a significant step up to get into the caravan and to get into the shower, however other than that the accommodation is on one level.
Yes! For the right type of child who enjoys the outdoors (but understands they cannot be free range in the farmyard!) we are a great location. We have good WiFi links on both the CL and in the Bothy and Static Caravan, however ‘entertainment’ on site is really about getting out walking, cycling and enjoying nature.
For our younger guests a travel cot, highchair and blackout blind can be provided within the static caravan and the shower has a reasonably deep tray and plug to make a small bath. We have accommodated twins in travel cots in one room in the static and the layout is quite flexible so can be made to suit your requirements. Please advise if you have any special requirements at the time of booking and we will try our best to accommodate them.
CAMC CL – your caravan/motorhome, bike, walking boots, dog and deck chair then sit back and enjoy!
The Static caravan has all the kitchen equipment you would expect but if something is missing please just ask.
Duvets and Pillows are provided, and bed linen is charged at £10 for doubles and £5 for singles if required.
We do not provide towels.
Only if used responsibly!
Please be aware of your setting, your neighbours and the wind direction.
Avoid BBQing and open fires when the weather is dry, especially prior to harvest when standing crops could easilly take light.
Please raise disposable BBQ’s safely off the ground (higher than you would expect) so that they do not kill off the grass. There are brick in the bin area which you can use raise the BBQ off the ground.
In the curtilage of the Retreat or the Bothy please BBQ on the gravel or concrete with the accommodation door closed. Unfortunately we do not allow fire pits near the selfcatered accommodation.
Please ensure disposable BBQ’s are cold before putting in the bin.
All pets that you can accommodate within your caravan/motorhome are welcome on the CAMC CL, but it goes without saying that we expect you to clean up after them and ensure that they do not disturb any other guest’s holiday.
If you plan to bring more than 2 dogs we request that you contact us before booking.
The static Caravan has a everything you should need, if you cannot find what you need please just ask, we’ll probably have one in the house
Your adventure starts right from the gate with circular routes in both directions. Head north up the Rigg and there is a 4.5m route if you turn right at the top and a 5.5 mile route if you turn left at the top. To see these routes and more have a look at our interactive map on the Beadlam Rigg page.
Sutton Bank is a 1:4 hill with a Hair Pin Bend - Caravans are Prohibited and often block it if they try to get up so please save yourself the embarrassment and use the caravan route, its not much longer, but is much more beautiful! The caravan route is signposted from Thirsk and goes via Coxwold and Ampleforth.
Most villages in the area have great play parks. Use our interactive map to find their location in Helmsley, Nawton, Beadlam Grange Farm Shop, Kirkbymoorside, Wombleton and Hovingham.
Helmsley has a heated open air swimming pool (summer only) There is a 25m pool at St Alban’s sports centre in Ampleforth, There is also a pool with a slide at Pickering and Flamingo land (open to the public through winter).
We are very lucky to be served by some great places to eat in the area, our favourite is Canadian Fields in Nawton. Check out our interactive map for a list of what is available from Michelin Star restaurants to kebab houses, however unfortunately none of them deliver to site.

On arrival you are struck by how peaceful and clean it is. The facilities are immaculate and something I especially like are the large pitches. The owners are very helpful and pleasant. There are lovely walks and great scenery , I have never seen so many beautiful little birds along the hedgerow!
A Wonderful location if you are after a tucked away retreat with stunning views and homely countryside feeling. Ailsa is a wonderful host and communication was great, the Bothy was clean, tidy and well equipped A great location for getting into the Moors and going for an explore. Our personal favourites were Goathland and Robin Hoods Bay. The Smart TV was great and the WiFi was strong and reliable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was very peaceful and the views were outstanding. The Retreat was excellent with every modern amenity to a high standard. The location was ideal for all of the trips that we had planned, from Whitby to Fountains Abbey, and many more over the 10 day stay.
